Explorer Post 63

Explorer Post 63

Thank you for your interest in the Columbia County Sheriff's Office (CCSO) Explorer Post. This program is designed for students 14 to 20 years of age who have completed 8th grade and are interested in a career in Law Enforcement. As a member of the Post, you will be able to experience many aspects of Law Enforcement including training in the fields of CCSO Road Patrol, Investigations, Detention Center, and the Special Operations Division. The training Explorers receive gives them insight into the various aspects of Law Enforcement which can help them on their Law Enforcement career path. Once an Explorer has become efficient in the training they receive it can be utilized at competitions where they not only compete against other Explorer Posts, they have the opportunity to meet Explorers from counties throughout Georgia.

Along with the training aspect of the Post, we will also enrich your life by participating in community service projects. We assist with fundraisers for the Special Olympics, Day with a Deputy, and other worthwhile events throughout the year. We also invite state and federal law enforcement agencies to come and speak about their job requirements and daily activities.

We constantly stress the concepts of teamwork, discipline, professionalism, self-esteem, lifelong learning, and service to the community.
