When to Apply
Licenses are issued Monday through Friday from 8 am to 4 pm in both Evans and Appling Offices.
What to Bring
Things you will need to bring include:
- ID for each Person - Acceptable forms of ID A government-issued ID such as a Driver's License, State ID, Military ID, or Passport.
- Certified Copies of Divorce Papers if you have previously been Married
- Certified Copy of Death Certificate if you are Widowed
Required Information
Information you will need to know on your application includes:
- Parents' Birth Place (City and State)
- Mother's Maiden Name
- Date and location of marriage: Must be in Georgia
Cost
The marriage license cost is $56 without Premarital Counseling or $16 with Premarital Counseling Certificate.
Payment must be cash, money order, or credit card (with a convenience fee).
County copy of Marriage License shall be returned to the Probate Court prior to receiving a Certified Copy of the Marriage License.
You can obtain a certified copy of the Marriage License in person or online. The cost is $10 per copy. You will need this to change your social security card and driver's license.
Please note, this court never issues a marriage certificate only certified copy of marriage license.
